On July 19, 2023, the Sino-Swiss Institute of Advanced Technology(Short for SSIAT) Science and Technology Innovation Day and the 2nd session of the Shanghai Integrated Circuit "Master Class"2023 were successfully held in Shanghai University.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Liu Changsheng, the President of Shanghai University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Cheng Danhong, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. Academician Peter Seitz, the Vice President of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences and the Honorary President of the SSIAT at Shanghai University, introduced the SSIAT background.



The SSIAT at Shanghai University has signed an agreement with the Spanish National Biodonostia Healthcare Institute to establish an international joint laboratory.

Sun Zhenrong, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Tang Wenkan, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Economic and Information Commission, Zheng Yichuan, member of the Baoshan District Committee and Executive Deputy District Mayor, and Zhang Jianhua, Executive Dean of the School of Microelectronics at Shanghai University, jointly launched the Shanghai IC Talent Training Production and education intergration Base (Baoshan).

Sun Zhenrong, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, expressed his hope in his speech that the research institute would achieve more and better results in scientific and technological innovation, talent attraction, talent training, and international exchanges.

Wang Ping, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, affirmed the significant importance of this event in promoting scientific and technological innovation. He expressed his hope that the research institute would closely follow the development pulse of Shanghai's three leading industries and strive to build an internationally top-notch research and development base for biochips and biomaterials, making new contributions to the construction of Shanghai's science and technology innovation center and the global scientific and technological innovation cause.

within the university, attended the opening ceremony. After the opening ceremony, Zhang Xinpeng, Executive Deputy
Minister of the Scientific Research Management Department of Shanghai University, chaired the keynote report,
followed by an excellent speech by Academician Peter Seitz. He pointed out that the ultimate goal of scientific
research is to serve and improve the lives of citizens, and research needs to align with societal needs. He encouraged
young scientists to set lofty goals, delve into challenging topics, and aspire to use their research achievements to
serve society.
In the afternoon, Zhang Lei, Executive Dean of the Sino-Swiss Advanced Technology Research Institute at Shanghai
University, hosted a special report, and several experts from higher education institutions and research institutions
gave presentations, sharing their research experiences and technological models.
The successful hosting of this event demonstrates Shanghai University's commitment and confidence in further
addressing major national needs, strengthening national strategic scientific and technological capabilities, and
accelerating the achievement of scientific and technological self-reliance. It also reflects the university's determination
and confidence in coordinating resources from various parties, forming policy support, and improving management
services. We look forward to the future Science and Technology Innovation Day and “Master Lecture” events
continuing to provide an efficient and in-depth communication platform for the scientific and industrial communities,
further promoting technological innovation and related industry development.
