Shanghai International Academic Exchange Association (short for SIAEA) was established in 1988 with the approval of Shanghai Municipal People's Government. The executive unit of SIAEA is the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality (Shanghai Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs). The SIAEA closely focused on the overall situation of the national and Shanghai's task of attracting international talents, and carried out a lot of work in the form of non-governmental. Since 2002, in the name of the association, eight overseas liaison offices have been established in the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Australia, Canada, Japan and other major developed countries in the world, taking on the functions of introducing overseas high-level talents for Shanghai, building an international talent exchange platform, and promoting the Shanghai related policy of attracting talents and intelligence. The association has 105 organization members by for now.
